A home care company is launching a nail care service for housebound elders, aimed at preventing infection and promoting personal hygiene.

Along with traditional care services such as palliative and dementia care, companionship, and assistance with daily tasks, Home Instead South Lakes, now offers nail cutting and care.

The professionals are trained to trim and file nails, manage cuticles, handle calluses, and even offer hand and leg massages and nail polish applications.

Care professional Manon Wheatman said: "Nail cutting is something most of us take for granted.

"But if you have mobility issues, it’s a difficult and sometimes dangerous job to try and do yourself."

She added that this service offers more personal care from someone the client is familiar with.

Louise Yates, general and registered Manager, encouraged people to join their team and avail their fully-funded training programs.

Home Instead South Lakes has achieved an overall 9.9 rating from client reviews and is considered an outstanding care company by CQC.
