CUMBRIA Police asked Coniston Mountain Rescue Team to assist them in the search for a child.

Two Land Rovers were initially dispatched with a third following after another incident was concluded. 

A spokesperson from the team said: "Following his parents' advice, the main paths and tracks were searched quickly, with the aim to undergo more intense searching later, and probably with more resources."

Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team was also asked to assist with the search  in the area between High Wray and Skelwith and two search dogs were on their way. 

However all the crews then received the call that the boy had been found which was 'a relief for all.' 

Coniston MRT reported that 19 team members attended this incident, which lasted four hours.
