WHITBREAD, which runs Premier Inn, has confirmed the closure of The Wakefield Arms in Kendal.
The last day of operation for the pub was July 4.
A spokesperson said: "After many years serving the community we can confirm that the Wakefield Arms has closed its doors. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their support over the years and our amazing team members."
Plans indicate the former pub will now be used as an integrated restaurant for the Premier Inn on Maude Street.
In April, Premier Inn's Accelerating Growth Plan stated that the company would replace around 112 of its 'lower-returning branded restaurants with integrated restaurants' after the branded eateries produced an adjusted loss before tax of £19m in the last financial year.
"At these locations we will transfer the delivery of food and beverage for our hotel guests to an integrated restaurant that will be built inside the neighbouring hotel, mirroring the successful format of our 387 integrated restaurants that are already in operation across our estate," the plans state.
