LOVEBIRDS said they would 'love to do it all over again' after their perfect wedding day.

Patrick Quinn Paine, 31, a maintenance team leader, tied the knot to Karen Elisabeth Paine, (nee Hardcastle), 36, a customer service assistant.

The couple, from Millom, met each other through friends and were friends for a couple of years before beginning a relationship.

Patrick proposed to Karen on September 26 and their wedding took place on May 25 with a church service at St George’s Church in Millom with 170 family and friends in attendance.

Karen said: "Every person there is incredibly special to us and we are so glad they all got to share the full day with us as we didn’t feel happy with splitting it between day and night guests."

The reception was held at Millom Rugby League Club where Patrick proposed.

"The day was perfect in every way. The sun was shining with a light breeze, a perfect May Day," said Karen.

"The morning preparations were really laid back with lots of laughter and excitement.

"The service was a traditional service with some laughter mixed in. The church was full of all our nearest and dearest."

Their twins Elliott and Reuben were the ring bearers, their youngest niece Lara Paine was their flower girl, and their eldest nieces Alice Hillen and Maddison Paine were junior bridesmaids.

"My father sadly passed away 12 years ago so my eldest son Frankie walked me down the aisle to Ruelle's I Get to Love You," said Karen.

"The theme of the wedding centred around the wisteria flower. I lost my mother 5 years ago and her pride and joy was her wisteria plant in her garden so it was a nice little nod to her on the day.

"We walked into the rugby with a full-energy introduction for all the wedding party each with their own music. This was followed by hilarious and a little cheeky at times speeches from the best man and one of the bride’s sisters Andrea Hardcastle.

"The first dance was like something out of a movie, all our loved ones gathered around us as we danced to Clinton Kane's I Guess I’m in Love - they all sang along over the music creating the perfect moment.

"The rest of the evening is exactly how we wanted it to be the dance floor full, everyone having the time of their lives and loving every minute of our special day with us."

Their honeymoon will be a dream trip to New York at Christmas.

The couple would like to thank Mandy Holmes and Kelly Doyle for decorating the rugby club, Debbie and Will Paine, Millom Rugby League, Nicola Armstrong from the Bloom Room, Nicole Mossop from Macies and Lia Newton for hair and beauty, Blush Whitehaven, Jenna Carpenter for her photos, Paul McKnight for the food, Sharon Platt, Angie Fox for the cake, PCRoadshow for the entertainment and Victoria and Stephen Phillip’s for their babysitting services.

"We would love to do the day all over again," concluded the couple.
