A summer beer and music festival is set to debut in Kendal next month.
Promising to be a 'wholesome, family day out', the Gateway Summer Beer and Music Festival will take place at The Gateway Inn on Saturday, August 24.
Organiser Antonio Guenovski, project manager for the Westmorland Group, said: "The aim is to provide a new community event for Kendal."
With live music, children's entertainment, guest ales, and a burger van, the festival aims to deliver plenty in the way of enjoyment.
The event will kick off at noon, and feature performances from three local bands throughout the day.
Thieving Magpies, a popular Kendal group, will entertain crowds from 2pm-4pm, followed by pop-rock covers band, The Ricochet, from 5pm - 7pm.
Lancaster-based Antiks will be the last band to take the stage, playing from 8pm-10pm.
Jon Pearse, lead singer with The Ricochet, was enthusiastic about the festival.
He said: "It sounds like it’s going to be a great festival.
"We always love playing outdoor to local crowds.
"It’s a privilege to play around here and great to play with the fells in the distance."
There will be a Giant Games Day for children, featuring massive versions of household favourites like Jenga, Connect 4, and hopscotch.
For those not driving, a shuttle will provide transport from The Gateway Inn into the centre of town from 10pm until midnight.
Entry to The Gateway Summer Beer and Music Festival is free and no bookings are required – all are welcome to join in the festivities and see the community come together in celebration.
Mr Guenovski also had high praise for Joshua Macaulay and Chris Moss, owners of the Westmorland Group, he said: "I think it's fantastic that they are giving people the opportunity to listen to live music at local venue with a nice atmosphere."
The pair aim to continue this trend by hosting Duke Fest 2024 at The Duke of Cumberland later in the month.
