TEAMS have been out in a Lake District town tackling 'stubborn dirt' on the pavements and pedestrian zones in the area.

Cumberland councils street cleaning teams will be out in Keswick this week washing street furniture, cleaning streets signs and removing chewing gum and weeds from the streets.

The council have thanked residents, businesses and visitors for their patience whilst cleaning is underway.

In a statement on social media, Cumberland council said: "If you live, work, or are visiting Keswick this week, keep an eye out for our ninja cleaning teams making the area even brighter and sparklier!

"They're out again this week tackling stubborn dirt on pavements and pedestrian zones, removing chewing gum and weeds, washing street furniture, and cleaning street signs.

"We hope you'll agree Keswick is looking fantastic – check out these photos we've taken so far!

"A big thanks to all the residents, businesses, and visitors for bearing with us while we give Keswick a fresh clean."
