The new concept for Kendal is being prepared by the team from Marra - a café located on Branthwaite Brow.

James Tucker, the man behind the business, explained that crumb. is 'bright, vibrant and on-trend'.
"It will sell top quality delicious, toasted sourdough sandwiches and speciality Darkwoods coffee," he said.
"Whilst we are lucky enough to be surrounded by some of the best bakeries in the country, most of our sourdough bread, including our award-winning chocolate sourdough loaf, will be baked at our in-house bakery based at Marra on Branthwaite Brow.
"Forward-thinking and designed for food lovers who live life on the go crumb. is not your traditional café. We will be open early mornings to serve people going to work, giving a tastier and healthier option to commuters rather than using the big chains. We are positioned right next to Kendal College providing students with a modern and healthy alternative."
Although Marra is solely James as the director, his business partner on this venture is Mathew Ellwood.
Asking why he decided to open another cafe in Kendal, James said: "It may seem foolish to have two cafes in Kendal with today’s economic turmoil, however, if we want the high street to thrive again, we must be progressive and look to developing our much-loved high street differently.
"Habits are changing, and customers are looking for an interactive experience. The majority of takeaway options on the high street are dominated by the big brands and the customer experience and quality is missing from the takeaway sector - we have an opportunity to change this."
crumb. is located at Unit 1, in Blackhall Yard.
"We look forward to inspiring and enthusing food and coffee lovers alike," said James.
