AN OUTDOOR seasonal tourist attraction is celebrating after claiming a prestigious TripAdvisor award.
Lakeland Maze Farm Park, located on Raines Hall, Sedgwick, have been recognised with a TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Award for 2024..
It comes after the business consistently demonstrated a commitment to hospitality excellence throughout last year.
The award now places Lakeland Maze Farm Park among the top ten per cent of listings around the world.
Business owners Graham Wadsworth and his wife Jane have managed to accumulate 320 reviews at 4.5 stars and rank second for things to do out of 43 other attractions in the area.
Speaking about the achievement, Graham said: “It’s good to be recognised for what we hope to achieve anyway in terms of providing a good customer service and an attraction that people fully enjoy. Hopefully we’ve been recognised for what we attempt to do anyway.
“It’s a great achievement. You will always get a couple of bad reviews because you can’t please absolutely everyone all of the time.
“I’d like to dedicate the award to the hard work and dedication of our brilliant staff. They are the point of contact for our visitors.
“It doesn’t matter how good our facilities and attractions are, if the staff don’t engage and make people feel welcome then it doesn’t matter what we do. It’s a joint effort.”
The farm, which has been owned by the Wadsworth family for over 100 years, is currently enjoying its 20th anniversary of operating its maize maze.
Onsite there is play equipment, petting areas, café, soft play area and purpose-built all-weather mazes.
“We try to respond to customer feedback as much as we possibly can,” Graham added.
“In general, if there are things that people are picking up in terms of site improvements then we do our best to address those.
“We are always on the lookout for new ideas. We are going to do a pumpkin picking festival for families in October this year for the first time ever, which has been a challenge given the weather we’ve had this season.”
