Burnetts Solicitors is opening a new office in Kendal offering specialised services for leisure, tourism and hospitality businesses.

Located in Cumbria Tourism’s Staveley HQ, the office aims to serve clients in the South Lakes, Lancashire, and further south.

The services offered include Burnetts' full range of commercial legal advice complemented by specialist support for the leisure, hospitality and tourism sectors.

Corporate partner Jennifer Bell is set to lead the new operation.

Burnetts recently relocated its Newcastle office to the modern 1 Citygate, and has additional premises in Carlisle and Cockermouth.

Burnetts’ partner and head of corporate, Michael Walby, said: "It’s been a longstanding ambition for us to open an office in the South Lakes.

"We are well connected in this area, and we see many opportunities for continued growth, including recruitment, as we intend to build our team here."

Echoing his sentiment, Ms Bell said: "We are looking forward to working closely with other local businesses and getting involved with the local community, which is something that is important to us as a firm.

"We’re already a proud Strategic Partner of Cumbria Tourism and admire the great work it does, so are very happy now to be its neighbour."

Managing director of Cumbria Tourism, Gill Haigh, welcomed Burnetts.

She said: "Cumbria Tourism’s Staveley HQ is a thriving hub of different businesses and it’s fantastic to welcome Burnetts to our offices.

"There are several complementary companies in tenancy and as one of our existing Strategic Partners, Burnetts are a great new addition to the growing community of businesses we have here."
