A CONCERT will raise funds for a mountain rescue team's permanent base.

Furness Music Centre is performing a choir and orchestra concert to collect funds for Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team.

It will have a varied programme of music from classical to pop by a chamber orchestra and choir.

The team is currently fundraising for a permanent base to replace the two industrial units they rent.

The team are on standby 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and have been since 1962. They cover an area of approximately 655km², are all unpaid volunteers, and as a charity, they rely on donations.

The event is taking place at Grizebeck Village Hall on Sunday July 14 from 6pm to 7.30pm with doors opening at 5.30pm.

The suggested minimum donation is £5 cash or card on the door.
