THE boss of an award-winning producer has revealed the details of his new factory shop.
Lakeland Artisan, the artisan food and drink company founded by husband and wife Geoff and Mary Monkman, announced the closure of all of its shops in Kendal, Bowness, Carlisle, Keswick and Lancaster on December 26.
Mr Monkman explained the closure of the shops was a direct result of his wife's disappearance, with the extra pressure the shops and the warehouse placed on himself, coupled with keeping the production side of the business still running.

However, a new shop has now opened in its factory in Kendal due to 'customer demand'.
Mr Monkman said: "They were closed as a result of too much pressure to manage them all and the logistics involved.
"The shop is at our production unit which is between the Cement works and SITA when you are heading up to Scout Scar from Kendal.
"We have some great offers on the products we make ourselves including Cumbrian Delights preserves and relishes, Mawson's Soft Drinks, Lakeland Liqueurs, and Herdwick Distillers Gin.
"We also stock a range of locally sourced products, including beers, fudge and mint cake to name but a few so you are able to create a bespoke local hamper or gift box for whatever occasion and to suit your budget."
In December Mr Monkman said it was with a 'very sad heart' that he was closing all the Lakeland Artisan shops in Cumbria on New Year's Eve.
He said at the time: "We built the shops together and it's just not the same without her by my side. She is deeply missed by us all, she was my rock and my everything, there is just too much for me to cope with and keep juggling."
Lakeland Artisan is a multi-award-winning artisan food and drink producer.
The shop is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 2pm on Friday.
