A MAN will be sentenced in the crown court after pleading guilty to a spate of criminal offences against a woman.
Thomas Leigh, of Garsdale Court in Bolton-le-Sands, admitted to intentionally sharing a photos and/or film of a woman in an intimate state without her consent for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification.
The 34-year-old also confessed he had stalked the same woman causing her serious alarm and distress as well as causing ‘a substantial adverse effect on her usual day-to-day activities’ by turning up unannounced at her place of work and home address and buying her flowers.
Leigh further admitted he had assaulted the same complainant by beating her on April 16 and April 20 this year as well as intimidating the woman by requesting she drop the charges against him on April 21.
He will also be sentenced for two counts of possessing cannabis and obstructing a constable in the execution of his duty.
Magistrates at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on June 20 committed the offences to Preston Crown Court on July 19 due to insufficient sentencing powers.
