Calling all train fans...Britain’s first luxury high speed diesel-electric train will whisk passengers along the Cumbrian coast this weekend.

The Midland Pullman is embarking on a tour on Saturday June 22 that will take guests on a circular route from Wales to Carlisle.

With tickets costing around £195 or more, the journey will take around 15 hours from boarding at Holyhead to disembarking.

Billed as an ‘experience’, the tour boast ‘elegantly refurbished carriages’, a ‘welcoming and professional’ team, as well as stunning views and onboard dining provided by an executive chef.

The train has been refurbished and restored after running between Manchester Central and London St Pancras in the early 1960’s.

This weekend the Settle to Carlisle and Coastal Pullman is scheduled to leave Carlisle at 4pm and shortly pass through Dalston, providing the subsequent passing times:

  • Wigton at 4:16pm
  • Maryport at 4:36pm
  • Workington at 4:49pm.
  • Whitehaven at 5:06pm,
  • St Bees at 5:16 
  • Sellafield at 5:33pm.
  • Bootle at 5:48pm
  • Silecroft at 5:53pm.
  • Millom at 5:57pm
  • Askam-in-Furness at 6:18pm.
  • Barrowat 6:36pm
  • Ulverston at 7:04pm.
  • Carnforth at 7:40pm.

The train will carry on to Holyhead in Wales where it will end the journey.
