GRASMERE Gingerbread is celebrating its 170th anniversary with a new commemorative tin.
A new, limited edition and commemorative presentation tins are being introduced as part of the anniversary of Sarah Nelson's Grasmere Gingerbread.
The elegant green and golden presentation keepsake tins hold either six or 12 pieces of gingerbread.
Grasmere Gingerbread was invented in 1854 by Victorian creator cook Sarah Nelson who mixed and baked her spicy-sweet chewy concoction inside her neat Church Cottage home, now The Grasmere Gingerbread Shop, and sold it to villagers and visitors from a tabletop on a tree stump outside her front door.
A spokesperson for Grasmere Gingerbread said: "In this celebratory year, we are also launching several new products including a limited edition delicious fruit spread - Sarah Nelson’s Gooseberry & Ginger Conserve."
