A BLAZE broke out in a bedroom in the early hours of today, Monday (May 27) as fire crews were called.
Milnthorpe and Kendal Fire crew received the report of a building fire in Milnthorpe at 4.38am.
On arrival, the crews found that all the occupants were accounted for, and were informed that an upstairs bedroom was on fire.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, using a thermal imaging camera, a hose reel jet, and the use of tactical ventilation, 'very quickly' extinguished the fire and so contained the fire damage to one room.
Crews were on the scene for approximately 4 hours before returning to Home station 
A spokesperson for Milnthorpe Fire Station said: "When events like this occur, we take it as a good opportunity to remind you all to test your smoke alarms, as they really do save lives and property.
