Cumbria born band Vacant Weekend have announced a brand new single and a UK tour.
Their latest offering, ‘Funny Dad’, a distinctly funky, groove-infused indie rock track, will be available from May 31.
The track gives a glimpse into their highly anticipated upcoming EP, set for release this summer.
Vacant Weekend described ‘Funny Dad’ as "the closest thing we have to a ballad."
They also said: "It’s just raw emotion poured into sound, and that sort of thing is only able to happen in a room you really feel comfortable being vulnerable in - being friends for most of our lives, it’s a privilege we’re always afforded."
After successful performances at festivals Kendal Calling, Bluedot, and Solfest, Vacant Weekend are preparing for their UK tour, starting in Newcastle on June 14.
They will visit Cumbria on the tour, when they play in Kendal on June 20.
Joined by three session players, their live performance is promised to be electrifying.
Gaining recognition from Spotify, Apple Music, and BBC Radio 6, and amassing 370,000 plays on TikTok, this up and coming band is certainly on the radar.
