UPDATE (8.45pm): Traffic has now been released with two out of three lanes remaining closed whilst emergency services are on scene.
Traffic has been stopped on the M6 southbound following a crash that has left a car overturned.
Traffic is currently halted between J36 Crooklands and J35 Carnforth, according to National Highways.
Emergency services are attending the scene.
The incident was first reported by National Highways at around 8 pm (May, 14).
Drivers are being advised to expect delays.
