A Lancashire theatre group has won two of the UK theatre's biggest regional awards for one of its productions.
The Silverdale Village Players, an amateur dramatic group from Silverdale, received the 'Best Pantomime' and 'Best Director of a Pantomime' awards for their production of 'Rapunzel'.
The awards were presented by UK’s National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) at its Northwest Finals on May 5 during a special awards dinner in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.
'Rapunzel', written and directed by one of the Players' own, Rachael Shone, featured a sequence in the 'Hair We Go' salon, talking cats, and a comedic tower scene.
Ms Shone said: "Writing and directing ‘Rapunzel’ was a challenging yet immensely rewarding experience.
"I feel really privileged to have had such a talented cast and backstage team, who worked so hard to bring my script to life.
"NODA’s recognition is a huge pat on the back to everyone involved."
The Silverdale Village Players are planning this year's pantomime which will be staged at the Gaskell Hall, Silverdale from December 4 to December 7.
Rehearsals are set to begin in September.
Interested parties are invited to join and add to the fun.
