Schools in the Furness area were recently treated to a special workshop and concert.

More than 150 primary school students from six schools had an unforgettable day at Victoria Hall, thanks to a workshop and performance by the Scottish Brass Quintet Brass Tracks.

The event was arranged by Grange Concert Club, bringing culture to the young at no cost.

Brass Tracks, a band of highly accomplished musicians with backgrounds in television, theatre, brass bands, and chamber music, was in town for an evening concert.

Engaging the young minds with a mixture of thrilling performances and interactive activities, Brass Tracks left a mark on the students, stimulating their curiosity and passion for music.

One headteacher echoed the sentiment of many, sharing: "We want to say a massive thank you for inviting us, the children were mesmerised within minutes and thoroughly enjoyed it.

"In fact, I am not sure who was more excited when they got back to school the staff or children!

"Thank you also for funding the coach, with school budgets as they are, we can rarely afford treats like this and we rely very heavily on parents volunteering to transport, but this many children would have been impossible."

Grange Concert Club's 51st season continues with more exciting music events from June to October.

Every first Friday of the month except in August, Victoria Hall will be filled with melodies from various music genres including classical, contemporary, and jazz.

These performances, starting at 7.30pm, will feature top-notch artists, many of whom have earned national and international acclaim.

The club's next concert will take place on June 7 at 7.30pm, featuring the internationally-renowned concert pianist Iyad Sughayer, a 2022 Rising Star Artist nominated by Classic FM.

Doors open 7pm.

Non-member tickets are available at £20 cash or card, with a bar on site.
