DRIVERS in and around Carlisle will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than ten minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week: The A69, from 6pm April 30 to 5am May 7, with slight delays of under ten minutes.

The A69 in both directions at Low Row to Gilsland. Traffic signals at various locations for SU Cabling and blockage work.

M6, from 8pm January 13 to 8pm August 30, slight delays of under ten minutes: M6 northbound and southbound, junction 43 to 44, lane three closures with narrow lane two to replace VRS.

A further three closures will begin over the next two weeks: The A69, from 9am to 4pm on May 8, slight delays of under ten minutes: A69 eastbound, Warwick Bridge. Traffic signals for street lighting maintenance.

The A69, from 7pm May 11 to 6am May 12, with slight delays of under ten minutes: A69 eastbound, Corby Hill crossroads - temporary traffic signals to carry out electrical testing.

A69, from 9am to 4pm on May 15, with slight delays of under ten minutes: A69 eastbound, - Naworth crossroads, traffic signals to carry out traffic sign maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
