THREE fire crews were called to a fire in Whassett last night (Tuesday May 7)
At 7.34pm crews from Milnthorpe, Arnside and Carnforth Fire Station responded to a call from a resident reporting a bedroom fire in Whassett, near Milnthorpe.
On arrival, all people were accounted for and the fire was extinguished by two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus using one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera.
A spokesperson said: "Luckily the fire was contained to a mattress which was removed from the property.
"Fire crews remand on the scene for around 60 minutes before returning to home station."
