COMEDIANS Josh Widdicombe and Nish Kumar joined the Westmorland Gazette team as part of the new series of their Sky show.
'Hold The Front Page' follows the dynamic duo as they travel the country and visit local newspapers to try their hands in the industry.
In the second episode of the second series, which aired last night (May 1), Widdicombe and Kumar report for the Gazette known locally as The Wezzy Gezzy' and embrace the stories that make Cumbria stand out.
Their first port of call was to travel to Egremont so that they could cover the Gurning World Championships, meeting competitors who keep the tradition alive.
As Kumar commented: "We are getting stuck in, talking to local people."
"It's a massive part of the community that has been missing for a few years, so this is exciting," Widdicombe added.
The 'journalists' were even roped into taking part themselves - though they will not be quitting the day jobs anytime soon.
Following that, they were tasked with covering the County Show in Crooklands, one of the largest rural trade fairs in the UK.
There, they delved into the mystery surrounding big cats in the county and the 'Beast of Cumbria', highlighting a new area of journalism for the pair.
Kumar explained: "We've gone in search of the evidence and we now have to honour the integrity of the process of investigative journalism."
However, their pursuit of a front page story was scuppered by the lack of definitive evidence of the big cat's existence.
"It's a lesson for us that we can't get side tracked by one big story," Kumar said.
Widdicombe added: "I think it outlines from a national level to a local level, it is really difficult to get evidence for a really good, strong investigation that stands up factually."
In Coniston, Kumar and Widdicombe interviewed Archie Workman, the 'dullest man in Britain', and helped him unblock a drain.
Whilst Kendal pub, Ring O'Bells, brought the pair into the world of poltergeists and paranormal activity.

CCTV footage caught a glass flying unassisted from a table, a clip that went viral and helped the pub attract more visitors - including the two celebrities.
Their final story centred around East 17 during a performance in Whitehaven, learning how to focus articles on local angles as well as unearthing exclusives.
Did their week of work end up being front page worthy? aired last night at 9pm Wednesday May 1 on Sky Max.
