A school in Kirkby Lonsdale has been thanking the local community after a brilliant period of fundraising.
St Mary's Primary School revealed on Friday, April 19 that, since the start of the school year in September, they have been able to raise a 'massive' £6,165.29 through various events.
This included a school lottery, the 'bag 2 school' scheme, a film night, a bingo event, and the Christmas fair, with the latter bringing in over £3000 on its own.
A spokesperson from the school commented: "We are so unbelievably proud of how much we have achieved this year alone - so far - with the huge help of the parents and donations of local businesses.
"Thank you so much as always for your support!"
In that period, £7,879.16 has been spent to benefit the pupils, including a new computer screen, musical instruments, Lego sets, a new storage shed, a history workshop, and a contribution to the new minibus.
