A PARAGLIDER has tragically died after suffering a 'medical episode' following his flight.
Cave Rescue Organisation has reported that the team was alerted by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with a 'serious incident' on Saturday, April 21.
A 'large number' of emergency services attended the incident involving a paraglider near Ribblehead.
One of the Rescue team vehicles, with advanced medical personnel on board, was redirected from Malham and a duty controller was also sent to the scene.
The team reported that appeared that the man suffered a medical episode following his flight and there was nothing to suggest a crash.
The man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The team members assisted in recovering the paraglider to an ambulance nearby and the team was stood down.
A spokesperson for Cave Rescue Organisation said: "A very sad end to our day.
"Our thoughts are with the deceased’s family and friends, and with all our friends and colleagues in the local paragliding community."
