Two people were injured in a three-car collision yesterday (April 15) with one of them suffering a leg injury.
The incident happened about 12:20pm today (April 15) on Ambleside Road - with delays of up to an hour still reported northbound from Windermere to Ambleside.
According to the AA route planner website, there is heavy traffic in both directions between Ambleside and Troutbeck Bridge.
Emergency services attended including police and North West Ambulance service.
A spokesperson for Cumbria police said: "Cumbria police were called at 12:19pm to Ambleside Road.
"Three vehicles were involved. Ambulance attended and one person suffered a leg injury."
A spokesperson for Cumbria Fire and Rescue said: "At 12:38 on 15th April 2024, two fire engines from Windermere and Ambleside fire stations attended a road traffic collision on Ambleside Road, Windermere.
"Two casualties were treated on scene by the fire service and left in the care of Northwest Ambulance Service. Crews were in attendance for two hours and thirty minutes."
