A group in Grange-over-Sands has proved that its members are as committed as ever 45 years after it opened its doors.
The Grange and District Lions Club, formed in 1979, handed a cheque worth £1,000 to St Mary's Hospice, based in Ulverston.
The group is a part of Lions Club International, a voluntary charity organisation that has over 49,000 clubs across the globe, all of which work to serve their local communities in small and large ways.
After receiving the significant donation, a spokesperson from St Mary's commented: "Their - and everyone else's - support helps us continue providing care for people in Furness and South Lakes.
"Every penny stays local, making a real difference in our community - we are incredibly grateful for the generosity."
