A brewery in south Cumbria is celebrating Damson Day with a new beer inspired by the fruit.
Hawkshead Brewery, based near Kendal, will be releasing their Damson Saison, a 5.6% beverage, on Saturday, April 13 to coincide with the celebrations.
The beer will be one of the features of the Westmorland Damson Association Day at the Westmorland Showground at the weekend.
The reason for the special day is to highlight the simple damson blossom, which is a key export from the Lyth Valley.
The fair on Saturday will be the first of its kind in five years, explaining why the brewery has made something special to mark the occasion.
