THERE has been a report of flooding on the B5282 Watersedge in Sandside, Cumbria as the spring tide rolls in.
The government flood alerts page says that 'flooding is possible' for the coast at north Morecambe bay during high tide today (1.15pm, Wednesday April 10).
This is due to spring tides, low pressure and strong winds bringing large waves and spray overtopping on the coast.
The alert states that flooding is possible from Roosebeck to Carnforth, and low lying areas around Ulverston, Greenodd, Haverthwaite, Flookburgh, Grange, Levens, Milnthorpe, Sandside, Arnside and Silverdale between 11.15am and 3.15am today.
The next high tide on Wednesday night is also expected to reach the flood alert level.
The page states 'we are expecting higher than normal tides over the next few days and as a result we may issue further alerts or warnings.'
