A COUNCILLOR has visited the works done to a lane previously affected by flooding.
Cllr Michelle Scrogham visited Next Ness Lane, near Ulverston, to check out the finished work on the drains.
Cllr Scrogham explained residents have 'struggled' for many years with flooding in this location.
She said: "Residents contacted me last year fed up with years of flooding in this area and constantly having to drive or wade through water. I reported it to Westmorland and Furness Council, and at the town council we also agreed to write to them on this long-standing issue.
"I was very pleased to be contacted by a resident to say the work is a success. Last night's torrential rain was a good test.
"I hope the similar issue we reported at North Lonsdale Road will soon be resolved too and drains will then be kept clean of silt."
