A WALKER was rescued after sustaining a 'very painful' ankle injury on a waterfall trail.
Cave Rescue Organisation was called out yesterday at 2.53pm to a 34-year-old walker who stumbled on the return leg of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail.
After the team doctor assessed the injury and gave mild pain relief, team members splinted the ankle and stretchered the casualty to Beezley, explained the team on a Facebook post.
A spokesperson for Cave Rescue Organisation said: "A team vehicle returned him to his partner’s car in the Falls car park for her to drive him to the hospital for a full assessment.
"We wish the casualty a speedy recovery."
