Bones were washed up onto a beach in Lancashire over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Officers from Lancashire Police responded to a call at 4:10pm on Sunday, March 31 after reports were made at Cove Road Beach in Silverdale.
The police have now confirmed that their team recovered 'some remains' during their initial investigation.
Work is now said to be ongoing so that they can determine whether the remains are human in origin.
