A ‘hidden gem’ hotel in the Lake District has welcomed three horse sculptures to its collection of artworks on display.
Last week, The Haweswater Hotel at Brampton added three new metal sculptures to the sculpture park within their grounds.
The horses were created by artist John Birkett, who boast more than 40 years experience in the architectural metalwork industry.
John creates unique bespoke commissions, with his work displayed both locally and nationally, including locations like the Houses of Parliament and Kensington Palace. The artist said: “I am very excited about the opportunity to show my works in such a beautiful location, the sculptures are now part of the scenery”.
The curator of the art programme is Renata Fernandes who is also Art Director at Escapade Silverstone, she said: “We want to bring a small number of unique pieces to the this incredibly special and secluded setting which is Haweswater, nature is the perfect background to showcase creativity.”
The all artworks displayed in the grounds of the 17 room hotel are available for sale.
Earlier this month, The Haweswater Hotel was added the Times’ list of “100 Best Places to Stay in the UK for 2024”, as well as the “35 of the best hotels in Britain for under £150”.
