Art lovers in Cumbria will have the chance to meet a famous contemporary British artist next week.
Kitty North will be at the Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa to discuss her current exhibition, Buildings in the Landscape, which is on display at the hotel.
The Windermere school alumna will make the visit on March 27 and the ‘meet the artist’ event will be held from 2:30pm to 5pm.
The event, organised in partnership with British art specialists Gavagan Art, will give budding artists and enthusiasts the chance to chat with Ms North about her work and the inspirations behind them.
Simon Berry, executive chairman of English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venues, said: “Kitty’s exhibition here is bringing her paintings to a wider audience.
"This event is taking that idea a step further to allow art enthusiasts to talk to her informally about her experience as a leading colourist and what continues to inspire her in her paintings.”
The gallery display features some of her most prominent paintings, including Moonlit Night, her painting of Levens Hall and The Old Rectory, which was once home to the English poet John Betjeman.
An accomplished artist with a history of major art projects across Britain, Ms North has received commissions from Bolton Abbey and Chatsworth House.
