A DRIVER has admitted to having above the legal limit of THC in his system when he got behind the wheel.
Steven Wood, 36, was driving a Ford Mondeo on the A590 between Brettargh Holt and junction 36 of the M6 on October 3 last year.
He was found with 3.2ug/L in his blood, which is above the specified limit.
THC, also known as Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, is the active component of cannabis. The threshold limit is 2µg/L, which is the level deemed above accidental exposure.
He gave a guilty plea at South Cumbria Magistrates Court in Barrow on March 13. Wood, of Redshank Drive, Heysham, was ordered to pay £133 in costs, given a 12-month ban, and fined £120.
