A group of performers in Staveley have earned themselves an award for their recent hit production.
The Staveley Amateur Operatic Society performed 'The Pirates of Penzance' back in October at the Staveley Village Hall.
Following the sell-out show, they have now been given a NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) Award for the best Gilbert and Sullivan performance in their district.

Producers Chris and Jo Worton said: "We are incredibly proud of everyone involved and wish to thank each individual person for their hard work and commitment.
"This award belongs to everyone involved in the production."
With this being their first time directing and producing a play, the award carried even greater significance for the pair.
The group were invited to attend the NODA award ceremony on Friday, February 16, in which they were recognised for their efforts.
Following this formal presentation, they will now be going forward to the Regional Awards in Blackpool, which take place in May 2024.
The production revolved around the character of the pirate Frederic, played by Peter Bowden, who intends intends to leave his life of crime on the high seas.
However, the Pirate King, Brian Lancaster, explains that his contract is for twenty-one birthdays and thus, with a sense of duty, Frederic is forced to stay.
The award comes at a special time, with this year being the 70th Anniversary of Staveley Amateur Operatic Society.
To celebrate, they will be performing Gilbert & Sullivan’s Iolanthe in September, helmed by the same directing team of Chris and Jo, together with David Tattersall as Musical Director.
More news about the event will be released nearer the time, but locals were told to be on the look out for posters and publicity to see another 'superb' performance from the society.
If you would like to be involved, either on or off the stage, SAOS said they welcome new members with open arms.
You can get in touch via their Facebook page or by visiting Staveley Village Hall.
