A MAN has pleaded guilty to using or threatening unlawful violence towards another.
Jeremy Simmons, of Pennington near Ulverston, admitted affray and that he assaulted a police constable by beating him on July 9 last year.
The 46-year-old also pleaded guilty at the first opportunity to having in his possession an offensive weapon, a wooden fence post, at The Miners Arms public house in Swarthmoor.
He indicated his pleas at South Cumbria Magistrates Court on February 12.
Magistrates committed the case to Preston Crown Court for sentence on March 25 because they had insufficient sentencing powers.
