THE conservative candidate is leading a campaign promoting cheap hormone replacement therapy (HRT) prescription bills for women.
Prospective parliamentary candidate for Westmorland and Lonsdale Matty Jackman is leading the campaign to ensure women on HRT are getting the discounted prescriptions they are entitled to.
Since April last year, the HRT prescription prepayment certificates (PPC) have cut the cost of prescriptions to £19.30 per year.
Mr Jackman is campaigning to make sure local women know about and can get these cheaper HRT prescriptions.
He said: "I am delighted to see that so many women in Westmorland and Lonsdale have been able to access cheaper HRT thanks to the government's new scheme. It is important that we make sure that all women have access to the support and treatment they need, but not everyone is taking it up”.
For more information on how to get the HRT PPC, women in Westmorland and Lonsdale can visit the NHSBSA website online on the NHSBSA www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/hrt-ppc or ask at their local pharmacy.
