The A591 between Ings and Staveley has been blocked in both directions after a road traffic collision.
The report was made at around 10:20am on Saturday, February 3.
Emergency services are said to be aware of the situation and are now attending the incident.
Commuters have been warned to avoid the area if possible, since delays will be likely.
The AA are currently reporting that the delays are lasting up to nine minutes, with traffic speed down to 10mph.
Update: the road now looks to have cleared following the incident this morning.
