THE High Sheriff of Cumbria presented the Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch Association's High Sheriff Shield Award to Endmoor Village Hall Charitable Trust Committee.
Joe Murray, QPM of Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch, introduced the presentation, which was held in the Village Hall.
Resident Alice Waite nominated the group and spoke of their professionalism, dedication and personal qualities.
In her nomination, Mrs Waite said: "In demonstrating good governance, management skills and care, the trustees and management team of the Endmoor Village Hall have continuously provided a regulatory compliant, safe, welcoming, sustainable, dynamic village centre facility that has through each decade, provided a venue for an ever-changing and expanding community with increasingly diverse needs."
On presenting the shield and certificate to Mike Sinfield, chair for 30 years until 2022, the High Sheriff remarked on the tremendous value of a centre for the community and how impressed she was with the committee’s contribution.
The audience included members of the Village Hall Committee, Parish Councillors, pupils from St Patrick’s School, and other local business people interested in the building and development of the Village Hall. South Lakes Guitar Club provided music, and there was a buffet with wine and sherry.
Eleanor Singleton, a Year 6 pupil, presented the High Sheriff with flowers.
