A CEILIDH at Kendal Parish Hall in Kirkland will raise money for the fund to fix the partially collapsed ceiling at the Unitarian Chapel.
On Sunday, November 6 2022 a chunk of the ceiling in the Grade II listed schoolroom building fell to the floor. The building is used by a wide range of community groups and charities.
There will be a ceilidh in Kendal Parish Hall on Saturday, February 3 at 7pm to raise money to fix the roof. Tickets cost £12 and include a hot supper. They may be obtained by calling Mandy on 07545 375721.
John Campbell, treasurer and buildings manager for the Unitarian Chapel, said: "It is a beautiful space with a domed ceiling decorated with ornate plasterwork. It cannot be used again until it has been fully restored and our aim is to restore it with better materials and replace the roof so that it is entirely protected against any further disaster."
