A YELLOW weather warning for wind has been placed on Cumbria this week, as the Met Office warns people are to expect disruption to travel.
The Met Office has placed a yellow weather warning for wind throughout the North West, including Cumbria, which is expected to last from 9am until 5pm tomorrow, Wednesday, January 31.
People have been warned to expect 'strong winds are likely to cause some disruption to travel on Wednesday'.
What to Expect
- Some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges and damage to trees is also possible
- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport expected
- Some short term loss of power and other services
- Coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves
