Storm Jocelyn brought transport chaos across large parts of south Cumbria this week.
With the county only just holding firm during Storm Isha, the second dose of strong winds and heavy rainfall compounded the situation.
This comes just a week after a flurry of snow also caused major disruptions throughout the region.
Storm Jocelyn arrived in Cumbria at around 4pm on Tuesday, prompting the council and emergency services into action.
By Wednesday morning, Westmorland and Furness Council had responded to 24 urgent reports of flooding, debris in the road or fallen trees.
As a result, 10 road closures had successfully been implemented and cleared across what the council deemed as priority A and B routes.
On the morning of January 24, six road closures were still in effect, including the A66 from Brough to Bowes and Urswick Road in Dalton.
Cars were reported to be stranded on the B6259 between Great Musgrave and Kirkby Stephen.
Both the A686 at Langwathby and the A592 Glenridding to Pooley Bridge were said to be facing flooding issues as well, but the council assured that the routes were 'passable with care'.
An 'act now' flood warning was issued to Grasmere in Ambleside on Tuesday due to it being low-lying land near the River Rothay.
On the evening of January 23, Meal Bank Road and Helm Lane in Kendal were closed due to the River Mint bursting its banks.
In addition, Banneriggs between Windermere and Kendal was also shut as a result of flooding, with drainage said to be at its capacity.
Having at one point witnessed the coldest temperatures in England last week, Shap was hit by wind speeds of 77mph during the storm according to the Met Office.
The yellow weather warning for strong winds was in place until 1pm on Wednesday.
In South Lakes, 64 homes were still said to be without power on Wednesday, according to Electricity North West.
