A number of people from across south Cumbria have been named on the King's New Year's Honours List.
The recognition focuses on recipients who have made exceptional contributions to their local communities and the country as a whole.
In the northwest alone, 105 people have been awarded, which is roughly 9% of the overall total.
Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden said: “Everyone from the North West receiving honours today represents the best in British communities.
“I send my warmest congratulations to this year’s recipients, all of whom are incredibly deserving for what they have achieved."
Penny Kirby has been given an MBE for services to Mountain Rescue in the Lake District.
This comes after recently marking the 40th anniversary of when she first joined the Wasdale Mountain Rescue team.
Rebecca Robson earned an MBE for her work in helping victims of domestic abuse across Barrow and the Furness peninsula.
She is currently the Senior Officer at Women's Community Matters, which has been working in the community for a decade.
Simon Rogan was also recognised with an MBE for his services to the food industry, now being behind 10 restaurants worldwide, including L'Enclume in Cartmel.
For her services to the community, Judith Anne Godden was also given an MBE following her work across Westmorland and Lonsdale.
Being named as a Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) was Peter Garwood, who was recognised for his volunteer work with the Rotary Club of Furness Peninsula.
Mr Garwood received particular praise during the Covid-19 pandemic, in which he was a key figure in the local vaccination drive in Barrow.
Receiving the same accolade was Graham Hundley following his service to the British Red Cross.
Having worked with the Red Cross for over 60 years, Mr Hundley has been a driving force behind the organisation’s Emergency Response in Cumbria initiative.
