WE looked at the latest government figures to reveal the busiest train stations in South Lakeland last year.
Office for Rail and Road data looks at the number of people entering and exiting every train station in the country, including the 14 stations for which data was collected in South Lakeland.
The Top Five Stations:
1. Oxenholme Lake District
With 482,000 entries and exits into the station in 2022-23, Oxenholme Lake District station topped the charts as the busiest train station in South Lakeland.
2. Windermere
This was followed by Windermere station, which saw people enter and exit 316,000 times last year.
3. Ulverston
In third was Ulverston – 257,000 entries and exits were recorded there.
4. Kendal
Just behind on 153,000 entries and exits was Kendal.
5. Grange-over-Sands
And rounding out the top five was Grange-over-Sands, with 128,000 entries and exits.
