Some of the biggest and fastest rising names in the UK comedy circuit are getting ready to come to Cumbria next year.
The Kendal Comedy Gala has announced its much anticipated line up for the first two shows of the year.
The shows are set to take place on February 16 and May 31, with this new comedy event looking to hit the ground running.
Tickets for the performances at Kendal Town Hall have proven to be popular, with a quarter of them sold after less than a week.
For the first show in February, the headline act will be Lloyd Griffith.
The comedian has made himself known through appearances on Soccer AM, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Richard Osman's House of Games, Comedy Games Night, Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club and ITV's Stand Up Sketch Show.
He is described as being 'disarmingly good' by The Times.
Griffith will be joined by Helen Bauer and Rob Rouse for the February event.
Bauer was an Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer Nominee back in 2019 and, according to the Sunday Express, she 'will not be performing in small venues for much longer'.
Rouse has made a name for himself through appearances on Upstart Crow, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, The Friday Night Project, Live at the Comedy Store, Celebrity Juice and Dave’s One Night Stand.
Doors for the show in February open at 7:00pm, with a start time of 8:00pm and tickets priced at just £15.
Looking towards March, the big name heading to the county is Justin Moorhouse.
A stalwart of the comedy scene in Britain, Moorhouse has built up his reputation thanks to appearances on Live At The Apollo, Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled and Coronation Street.
Joining him will be Terry Alderton and Bethany Black, with the latter having previously popped up in Doctor Who.
Alderton has made appearances on Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live, Ian Wright’s Friday Night’s All Wright, The Harry Hill Show and The Royal Variety Performance.
