A hospice and craft spirits producer have teamed up to launch a special limited edition gin.
St Mary’s Hospice, along with artisan producer Shed One, have committed to distribute a ‘Hospice Heroes’ gin to raise funds, with all of the profits resulting from its sale provided directly to the hospice.
The hand-distilled 43% London dry gin, gin, prepared and bottled in a small batch of just 100, contains a mix of lime, strawberry, and ginger flavours.

Further, the bottles are made of fully recycled glass, encased in natural wax seals and bear a bespoke St Mary’s Hospice label.
Zoe Arnold-Bennett, co-owner and founder of Shed One, said: "We were delighted to team up with St Mary’s Hospice to offer a gin to help them raise both awareness of the hospice and the services they provide, and of course, much-needed funds.
"They are a crucial part of the South Lakes community, and we’re proud to help look after our own and do everything we can to support them in their provision of care, comfort, and support across our area."
The Hospice estimates that it receives only 20% of its required annual funding from the government, resulting in a dependence on its community to fund the care of nearly 80% of its patients.
The organisation hopes the new initiative will encourage support from the area and increase donations.
Annabelle Holloway, corporate relationship manager at St Mary’s, said: "It’s a real privilege for us to work with such a well-known local company in Shed One.
"They’re known for the quality of the drinks they produce, just as we’re known for the quality of the care we give, so it really is a perfect blend."
She added that the funds raised from selling the handcrafted spirit would be used to serve the South Cumbria community.
The Hospice Heroes Limited Edition Gin, priced at £34.95 for 50cl, is available for purchase from St Mary’s Hospice based in Ulverston.
Pending the success of this batch, there are plans to release additional units in the New Year.
