Comedian and Britain's Got Talent star, Daliso Chaponda, is set to perform at Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre in February.
The Malawian-born stand-up artist, who captured the hearts of the nation on Britain’s Got Talent in 2017, and has since gained more than 300 million YouTube and Facebook views, has announced a UK tour for 2024.
The tour, titled ‘Feed This Black Man Again’, starts on February 11 in Glasgow’s The Stand.
A total of 21 dates have been confirmed so far, with the expectation for more to be added.
The comedian had first premiered ‘Feed This Black Man’ 20 years ago in Canada, as a critical examination of negative stereotypes perpetuated about Africans.
Two decades on, Daliso is a seasoned writer and performer.
He managed to secure a coveted spot on the Royal Variety Show, and has written and starred in four series of ‘Citizen of Nowhere’ for Radio 4, which was nominated for the Rose d’Or award.
Now, he is set to revisit the themes of his first show but with fresh, re-written jokes.
The show also includes Daliso's reflection on his personal journey.
He admits that his younger self would have been impressed that he had succeeded as a comedian but possibly have felt differently about his personal life.
Reflecting on the direction of his new show Daliso Chaponda said: "Touring comedy is what I love most and do best.
"What’s interesting about this show is that I look back on how I started, where I am, and get to the bottom of why I love and need this.
"It’s all very therapeutic and new age, but also I think this show is full of fun."
The artist has had notable TV appearances including on 'QI', ‘Have I Got News For You’, and ‘BGT The Champions’.
He is a regular on the Apprentice You're Fired and beyond his stand-up career, Daliso is also a prolific fiction writer.
He has published science fiction and was a finalist in the ‘Writers of The Future’ competition run by L. Ron Hubbard publishing based in the USA.
