An author and eco-campaigner is set to swim across Windermere to raise awareness about sewage pollution.
Lindsey Cole is coming to Kendal Mountain Film Festival with a film, 'Rave on for the Avon', and her a new book, 'The Mermaid, the Otter and the Big Poo'.
She will be completing the swim on Thursday from 1pm carrying with her an oversized 'poo' to drive home her point.
Following that, Ms Cole will read to school children and home-schoolers when she reaches Bowness on Windermere and teach them how to look for signs of sewage pollution.
This is not the first time that she has done something like this, previously 'mermaiding' the length of the Bristol Avon as well as the River Thames.
