A hotel in Kendal is hosting a unique festive treat - a Christmas themed murder mystery event.

The Castle Green Hotel will be bringing the classic works of Charles Dickens to life on December 19 as they transport guests back to the Victorian age.

Some of the public's favourite characters from the acclaimed writer will show up across the evening, with at least one of them ending up dead.

A spokesperson for the hotel said: "It's a murder mystery that can only be solved by travelling to the past, present and future so it's a good job that you've got the ghost of Christmas Crimes on hand to help you!"

The event will be organised by After Dark Entertainment and comes with a three-course meal priced at £41 per person.
