A man has been arrested after allegedly entering a hotel in Ambleside with a knife on Sunday evening.
Police were called to the incident at a hotel on Lake Road at around 5:51pm though the suspect had since left the area.
The man, aged 31, was reported to have headed for Windermere with officers eventually making an arrest after finding him in a pub on Lake Road.
He remains in police custody on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed article.
During inquiries to locate the man, armed officers carried out a search of a train at Windermere station.
Armed officers were deployed as a precaution and no one was injured during the incident.
